Overview and Mission:

Lacrosse is a fast-paced, exciting sport that is rapidly growing in the U.S. The Hub City Lacrosse Program’s mission is to provide the community with both the infrastructure and the opportunity to learn and compete in lacrosse. In addition to helping players develop the skills necessary to compete in the game, we help our players become better men, athletes, and students.

Practice and Games

When is this happening:
Practices will begin January 5th, 2025. Typical weeks have practices will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm at San Antonio Field in Hattiesburg, and games on Saturdays. The Full Schedule can be found here. Hub City Lacrosse plays in the Gulf South High School Lacrosse League- which stretches from Louisiana to Alabama.

Who CAN PLAY?

At this time, we are focusing on 10 vs. 10, full-field lacrosse. We will have openings for two teams in the 2026 Spring Semester:

-Boys High School team for 8th-12th graders.

-A Youth Boys team for current 5th, 6th, 7th and graders.

What do you need

Lacrosse is an equipment “heavy” sport, but we do not let this stop potential players from joining. We offer scholarships that cover the $180 annual team fee as well as equipment for the season.

Essential Equipment:

Lacrosse stick (between 40-42” in length). Players who have an interest in playing defense, or playing long-stick midfield need a stick 72” in length. However, longer shafts may be purchased at a later date if this interest develops. (Recommended: a stick with a semi-hard mesh that is preformed. Several companies, for example www.lax.com, offer custom preformed pockets at an extra charge. This fee is usually around $30. Despite the extra cost, this will help beginning players learn to cradle the ball and accurately throw much more quickly.)

Helmet, Cascade R, XS, XRS, S Preferred, must be WHITE

Mouthpiece

Lacrosse Gloves / Elbow Guards

Shoulder Pads

Cleats

A Cup!

*For players interested in playing goalie. A special goalie stick is needed. The team will have a goalie stick that is available to use, but you are also welcome to purchase your own. In addition to the other equipment listed above, goalies must also wear a throat guard and a chest protector. These will also be provided by the team.

Registration

There will be a registration fee of $150 per player. In addition to this fee, ALL PLAYERS must show proof of membership to US Lacrosse Association ($30 for youth and $35 for high school). This is mandatory as it provides insurance for the team.

We offer SCHOLARSHIPS for the annual registration fee as well as gear rentals for the year.
